Oh my gosh, that book looks awesome!! which means i just read the summary on amazon and added it to my wish list! sounds sorta like weston a price book... nourishing traditions which I've never read but perused a couple of times i actually just started my first sauerkraut on sunday. Tyler and I are both so excited for the first tasting this weekend! i used the recipe/guidelines in alice waters The Art of Simple Food
I have Nourishing Traditions but I find the recipes a little overwhelming at times. Also a lot of the seasonings in the recipes are not to my family's taste. It has tons of good info in it though. I haven't tried sauerkraut yet, just pickles, watermelon rind, and now asparagus. I am going to go add The Art of Simple Food to my wishlist. :)
I've often heard that said of the Nourishing Traditions recipes. It's incredible to me, but especially my husband, that every, every, every recipe we have tried from Simple Food has been astoundingly delicious, like, not "oh this is cool, different, new, pretty good" but "oh! my! gosh! this is awesome!! where is this recipe from?!!!????" We LOVE that.
The lacy shawl is gorgeous! I'm partial to knitting lace :) Hope you have started that hat by the time you read this comment.
Well I got my skeins wound into balls and found my size 9 needles but that is as far as I got today. :) I am still fairly new to lace knitting but I really enjoy it.
Thank you for your comment on my blog. I appreciate you.
