Yarn Along
Knitting socks for my girl. I cast these on about a week before I had Thomas so that I would have some simple knitting to take to the hospital with me. I love the wildness of the striping. These just make me happy. :) No reading for me lately (besides blogs) with a 6 week old in the house. I do need to pick up a book soon though, there are several sitting around here waiting for me to read. Go see Ginny for more knitting and reading fun!

{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real}
Yay my first PHFR!
{Pretty, Happy}
Isn't she lovely?
I suppose handsome is a better word for these two.
Some of you may be confused by this one but if you knew my love affair with butter and spiced breads/cakes... Both pretty and happy here. Also, it may look like a TON of butter (ok who am I kidding, it is... hey I am nursing a baby here) but that slice of cooked carrot oatmeal bread is at least an inch thick.
And I love these wild/fun/girly socks I am knitting for little miss Belle.
{Funny}
Found in a random place on the floor. Notice the cupcake liner.

My "gloves" so I wouldn't burn myself when I touched the hot pan.
"Say Cheese" (tiny playdough camera)
{Real}
Battling some diaper rash around here. Trying this because I have read it is both effective and doesn't cause repelling on cloth diapers which my beloved California Baby diaper creme seems to cause.
And finally, I call this one "life with a newborn and two year old". Five weeks is still newborn right? Somebody say yes because this mess... oy! This is pretty much my whole house in a snapshot folks. I took a picture of the kitchen but it was too scary to post. Go visit Like Mother Like Daughter (try the button up top) for more Pretty Happy Funny Real!
Also, more real here, that ring on my finger in the funny shot-as in my ENGAGEMENT ring- is now missing. :( I let my daughter look at it at bedtime and forgot to ask for it back, now we can't find it. It may not look like much but my husband and I were high school sweethearts (well I was in high school anyway) and when he proposed we were young and poor. I love that ring and everything it represents more than you can imagine... please pray we find it in the morning.
*UPDATE*
My darling daughter 'found' the ring in her pocket this morning (after I asked her if there was anything in her pockets- I had a suspicion). She was thrilled and so was I!

"The clock starts over..."
This is what my husband kept saying during my whole pregnancy when
referring to the birth of our second child. He was referring to the
nights of staying up till the wee hours of the morning with a fussy baby
and generally everything that comes with having a child. At the time I
scoffed. After all, we were more experienced, more used to taking care
of children, surely better at managing our time and getting to bed
early... Yet, here I sit at 6am. I went to bed at 10:15 last night,
woke up at 12:30 to nurse, and have been up since 3am with my 4 week old
son. My daughter intermittently cries out from the bedroom in her
sleep. Transitions have never been easy for her and this night time
transition with a new baby has been especially hard. I am afraid she is
missing a lot of sleep as well and I am not sure what to do about it. I
keep telling myself this is only a short phase of life in the grand
scheme of things. There will be a time when we can all sleep peacefully
again and I won't have this exhausted-past-the-point-of-feeling-tired
and jangly-raw-nerves feeling anymore. It helps me get through the day
and keep moving forward, even when I feel like yelling at the world or
simply giving up and taking refuge in my bed. Otherwise, the weather is
getting colder and I am liking the feeling of snugness in our little
apartment these days. Now if only it would magically clean itself I
could relax...

Hello and welcome to my new blog!
I am so happy and excited to be blogging again! I can finally access my blogger dashboard and posting options. Yippee!!! Ok, I really have to go back to cooking dinner but I was just so excited when I realized this a minute ago.
